Unsurprisingly, The Variants continues to be as stellar and surprising as its initial first issue. Read Full Review

Three more issues left in the series. Its still pretty confusing as to precisely what is going on. Simone is gazing deeply into the psyche of Jess while Noto is bringing that psyche to the page with a striking clarity of vision. Theres an impressive complexity about it all that also embraces the whole of the Marvel Universe with a tender intimacy. Simone has a deep understanding of what works for Jessica Jones, and shes bringing that understanding to the page.  Read Full Review

Like a clever origami puzzle, issue #2 continues to slowly unfold what is happening to Jessica Jones and the mystery of these variants . Simone shows off her incredible ability for character voice and digging into the emotional core of characters she writes. This is brought to life through glorious art loaded with emotional nuance from Noto to match the excellent script. It's a slower paced but emotionally taut affair that deepens the mystery while digging deep into its main characters core. This is Jessica Jones storytelling at it's finest. Read Full Review

This series is everything great about modern superhero comics. Strong writing and art craft a compelling story about real people as superheroes, and I can only hope there are more such Jessica Jones Mysteries in the future. Read Full Review

This issue still doesn't explain the whole of what's going on but that's okay, because the plot, characters and art are all strong enough that I want this mystery to last. Read Full Review

I really wanted Killgrave to be a red herring, and maybe he might still sorta be. But if we *must* have him, I'm glad the author cuts deep into Jess's psyche to show why she prioritizes him over these mysterious variants. The art's still fantastic; the dialogue; moreso. Every clipped little word of this script is delicious to me. Oh, and we're all agreed, the Jess mackin' on Daredevil is the first variant, right? This is gonna get confusing (hopefully in an all-good way).

This series has been great so far! I always buy Jessica Jones's books as I think she is a great character and unsurprisingly Gail Simone is writing her perfectly. I can't wait for the next chapter

I'm really liking this series. It's unique and it was good to see Tigra. Haven't seen her in ages. I like how they introduced Luke and Gail wasn't afraid to give the male character the spotlight for a second. There was no pandering. There were strong females and strong males and they worked in tandum. No one upping the other. I liked the scene with Daredevil. There are a lot of good moments here for a single issue, even though we still don't know what the story is even about.

Enjoyable but we're 2 issues in and the variants just keep leaving without a clue because we need to make this a 5 issue thing. Weird overdone trope of characters fighting for many issue for the heck of it then leaving just to do again later but I'll hold back for now because maybe Gail Simone will surprise me. Noto is doing great work as usual and better than issue 1.

Wow the concept seemed cool but this issue is unnecessarily confusing. I'm sure when this is collected in a tradepaperback it will quite interesting but the way this story is structured and the way it ends does not make me want to read more.
