Star Wars: Age Of Rebellion: Boba Fett #1

A very enjoyable tale of Boba after a mark. There are several incredibly fun moments with Fett just flat out awesome. The visuals are highly detailed, making this a very lush reading experience. This would be a welcome addition to any Star Wars fan's collection. Recommended. Read Full Review

All in all this book took me by surprise by providing me with the most enjoyable issue so far in these one-shot titles. While other titles in the Age of Republic and the Age of Rebellion books to date may have held more superficial shelf appeal for me, this is the one that now sits at the top of the pile as my favorite issue to date, and is the one that reminded me why Boba holds that special place in fans' hearts. While I do have an affection for Boba Fett I've never gone off the deep end as some fans do and just put him on a pedestal as a character. This story presents us a solid piece that shows how he operates, the way his reputation works, and a bit more on bounty hunters in general. Greg Pak keeps him minimal, showing by action rather than words, while Marc Laming puts in a gorgeous looking book that captures the detail and design of the character well but the whole world and property in general. It is not a terrible one-shot story, but it ain't the greatest thing ever either. Obviously, me not being the biggest Star Wars person I am not sure how this falls into the lore of Boba Fett? I mean it is a pretty basic bounty hunter story. The art is superbly well detailed and delightful to look at times, but also sequentially awkward and confusing. Read Full Review

The Villain

I really hope this is what we are in for with The Mandalorian. This comic stays true to George Lucas' original idea for Boba Fett, very similar to "man with no name" character from The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Its got a lot of western, gunslinger vibes.

Boba Fett does not care about any "side". He is is own and only side. What Boba cares about are bounties. This comic shows this very well. Could have used more action and fighting from Boba Fett though.
