Star is in a very precarious position right now. If she cant learn to control her newfound powers shell keep creating rips in the fabric of reality. Scarlet Witch can help her as best she can but if Ripley continues to let her anger and grief control her actions it wont be enough. Star #2 delivers powerfully on the heart-to-heart between novice reality-warper Star and the veteran Scarlet Witch. The art does better with the characters than the mostly-symbolic action they're engaged in, but that suits an introspective episode like this. There is a lot in Star #2 that is really well executed from the intense plotting to the stunning visuals, but the most intriguing aspect is just how much the issue pulls the reader in and makes them care for Ripley's dire situation. Read Full Review

Pina and Andrade deliver some beautiful art in this issue. I like the contrast in styles and how that plays out in both the A and B stories. There's some great action throughout and the characters look amazing. Read Full Review

STAR #2 is a step in the right direction. Kelly Thompson continues to grow the character, and pairing Scarlet Witch with Ripley was inspired. The art is inconsistent at distances, but at close range is at times stunning. Even without the big reveal ending Thompson delivers, STAR #2 would be a book worth checking out. Read Full Review

Wanda counsels Star to use her powers more responsibly while they fight demons. Really smart writing and great portrayals of the characters. The actual plot -- the journey through the cave -- is a bit underwhelming, though.

Prelude: I really enjoyed the first issue of Star so let's see how it goes with Scarlet Witch thrown into the mix. The Good: Scarlet Witch had some good advice. Black Order is cool. Art was good. The Bad: I wish Ripley had more to do or showoff. Conclusion: It's a good issue but the main character of Star needs to do more, especially for her own mini.
