The art remains great, combining painterly realism with creepy exaggeration to deliver an overwhelming air of menace. The words themselves are rather restrained, and there aren't many of them. But the script is exactly in line with the art in terms of tone. The creators are going all-in to trap Peter Parker (and the reader) in a relentlessly terrifying nightmare. And they are *succeeding*.
