Pacheco and Prez's time with Jess has been great fun for what is fast approaching a full two years. With all the flux and fluctuation in creative teams that superhero books are given to, it's nice to see a really good pair of people reliably bringing solidly engrossing superhero action to the page month after month. Is it silly in places? Absolutely. The reliability of the action and the steady quality in the creative team are quietly producing one of the most endearing series on comic racks today. Yet another enjoyable and great one by Pacheco where nothing happens. She is having fun here and I like it. Perez still here delivering fun, vibrant and hilarious art.

20 Issues is nothing to scoff at in this day and age of modern comics - Karla Pacheco is still in a place where it feels like she's finding her footing and every time she finds new floors to stand on she gets better! SPIDER-WOMAN #20 is an issue I wish the entire series would have been like, an ACTION-COMEDY?! Yes please, she has fun with everything she has done the entire series and strikes a tonal balance that was missing from earlier issues. I really hope we aren't near the end for Pacheco and Drew because every time she finds new ground she uncovers new potential as a writer. I feel is just about to reach her potential in this title and with Jessica! Pere Perez also gets to shine and he's knocking it out of the park here! PLEASE BRING BACK ROGER! ;___; more

I like wacky antics. I love this volume's particular brand of wacky. But dang, the Anti-Arach9 are a bit much even for me. Not all of the comedy zests my personal lemon, but I recognize it's done well. So is the scripting -- the structure is surprisingly complex, but not confusing. The art's very good, but a little more subdued than usual. I can only hope Mr. Pérez is conserving his energy for #21. Much of my minor disappointment stems from the fact that Jess is going through momentous personal growth. But there's not enough character development to fill the issue; thus the villainous comedy cavalcade.
