I have really enjoyed how writer Gene Luen Yang has mixed the martial arts action with mythology. And as someone that lives in the UK that is relatively uneducated about what the British did in regards to selling Opium to China as a means of trying to pacify and take control of the country. The way the writer ties all of that into the backstory for this book is brilliantly executed. It's a real high point for the book. Read Full Review

Pretty sure Gene Luen Yang is doing a massive bit of propaganda for China, why DC, an american company, allows this I won't understand.

Yeah, I guess I got confused because I was thinking about his work at DC on the Superman of China. But I stand by what I said, read the comic and you can see that there are vibes of Chinese propaganda. And it's not the first time Yang does that, doesn't matter where he's from, he sure likes to lick Chinese boots.
