In case you havent gotten the message by now, Im bananas for this series. This comic just gets me and I cant wait for more. Ales Kot and Mike Walsh are a new team to look out for and this book should be a lot bigger than it is. Everything about this comic has been great so far; it doesn't have a major Achilles heel. Ales Kot's brief tenure on Suicide Squad made him an excellent candidate to take over Secret Avengers. And thus far, Kot hasn't disappointed. He maintains the spy-ops focus of the previous volume while bringing back some of the humor and weirdness of Rick Remender's run. Read Full Review

"Secret Avengers" is a book that is firing on all cylinders right now, and seems to have an incredibly strong grip on what it is trying to do. The book is trying to blend espionage and humor, with some sci-fi tossed in for good measure. For the most part, it is succeeding at that. Kot's script here is full of a lot of action/spy movie cliches, but used in a knowing way; Kot isn't trying to play something off like it is an original idea, but rather playing with the form and creating something fun and fresh with familiar ingredients. Secret Avengers is smart, funny and laced with intrigue. Ales Kot knows when to lighten the mood and when to knuckle down. Issue four is a one-shot mission that moves along the greater story and characters while still being enjoyable and looking beautiful. Just great stuff. Fun and yet it has a serious side. This is the NEW HAWKEYE !!! As in that type of book, but with spy awesome instead of OLD BOY AND SIENFELD.
