Scream: Curse of Carnage remains a favorite of mine I always look forward to. It's getting harder to find new ways to praise this book, but if it continues to be this good, I'll live up to that challenge. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips

Overall, this is a really intriguing take on a lesser known, and highly underutilized character. Chapman has dropped her right into the seedy underbelly of New York, Scream is kicking arse and taking names. Any fan of previous symbiote work will definitely enjoy this! Read Full Review

A great setup for the next big Scream storyarc, it promises great things to come. New villains for Scream to face, new characters for her to befriend, the police slowly circling closer to learning Andi’s alterego, Chapman has plenty of plates spinning with lots to look forward to. The inclusion of The Punisher and Sandman works pretty well overall and the oversized issue makes great use of the extra pages it has to pace the story well. Chris Mooneyhams art remains a highlight of this exciting horror series. Read Full Review

    Horror DNA - James Ferguson

    Jun 12, 2020

Marvel has been playing with the horror genre for a bit with books like Immortal Hulk and Venom. Those have had ties with the greater Marvel Universe and leading to big events. Scream: Curse of Carnage feels like something else. It's darker and more terrifying. It's an unsettling kind of horror that creeps under your skin and crawls around, making you squirm. This is some real scary stuff. Read Full Review

This issue bears some resemblance to Frankenstein's monster, piecing together a variety of narratives into a collection that doesn't resemble an original superhero comic book. Read Full Review

Scream takes some first steps to protect at-risk kids on the streets, stumbling straight into other characters -- the Punisher and the Sandman -- with the same idea. It's a nice, basic street-hero story, livened up by some passionate art and a touch of thoughtful philosophy. Everybody's agreed that child predators need to get shut down, but opinions vary wildly on how much force is justified to achieve that goal.

I liked parts of this, but some of it was really odd. The dialogue was probably the biggest problem. I hope next issue does better.

This was messy. I liked bits of it but really did not like others. Do not wait 24 hours to report a child missing! That is a stupid myth and I am going to cure it one comic book review at a time.
