You Don't Read Comics - David Harth

Sabretooth and the Exiles #3 does everything right, but at this point, thats to be expected. The Krakoa Era has accrued its own stable of failures, but this isnt one of them. LaValle continues to do everything right when it comes to a Sabretooth comic and mutant book. Kirk and Beredo are brilliant. Theres really no other way to describe their art. Its always top-notch, and this issue shows off why. As usual, this book rises to the top. Read Full Review

'Sabretooth And The Exiles' loses none of its bite with a very trippy visual style of story that moves the characters and the storyline forward in a massive way, ramping things up towards the second act endgame. Spot-on and powerful visuals complement the grand ideas that this string of miniseries is trying to broach. Read Full Review

Intriguing plot, fascinating characters and a tie to historical medical injustice against marginalized communities to continue telling the boldest Krakoan story, one that I'm eager to see unfold, as the theme of eugenics looms over this book's ethos. Read Full Review

This was another fantastic chapter of the sabretooth and the exiles story. The artwork was phenomenal in this issue and I am really enjoying this story. I'm really intrigued where this may lead

Another strong issue as we get to the midway point of the miniseries. I really liked the moment between Melter and Orphan-Maker, despite it only being a short one. I don't think I've heard of him before I started reading LaValle & Kirk's Sabretooth, so I hope he doesn't get cast aside and thrown into obscurity once this book wraps up. Oh yeah, Sabretooth & Toad just running away and leaving Oya by herself was pretty funny as well.

The pace continues to accelerate, and that's (mostly) to the good. This isn't so hot as a standalone issue, but I think it makes a compelling chapter in a bigger story. The words and art are both improvable, but not at all disappointing.

This is just...okay. I feel like LaValle hasn't done a great job with the characterization; everyone talks the exact same way...nobody has a unique personality, and as a result, I'm finding it extremely hard to care about any of them. Nanny and Orphan-Maker seem completely different from how Zeb Wells wrote them in Hellions (which was brilliant by the way). This just feels...I don't know...stale.
