Give Rainbow a round of applause! This issue has it all! Great artwork, great story, and great dialogue. This was one issue, I was sad that it ended and can't wait for the next issue! This issue really surprised me, and I would highly recommend! Even if this is your first time reading a Runaways issue. After you read this issue, you will want to read more. Runaways has the capacity to tell a compelling story with these lovable characters, and other times they are just filler material. This storyline feels like filler material. It also doesn't allow a lot of time for any of the characters to show any of their distinct personalities beyond one saying "Yeah!" or "I'm uncomfortable in this costume." The only character who really excels is Gertrude. It's a fun story, but it lacks depth, character development, or even a unique story. Read Full Review

My rating falls below my usual 9-to-10 "greatness zone" for two reasons: 1) It feels a little stretched (like the finale issue ran too long and the creators split out the first act and inflated it to issue length) and 2) I worry that some key details (like the identity of the "terrorist" target) were a little too subtle. This is still a terrific comic, but not quite as all-time great as many previous issues.
