This is minor gripe but the dialogue and science could have been minimized a bit during the fight. I do like where the book ends though. The cliffhanger presents an interesting confrontation for T'challa and if the last issue's encounter with Namor is any indication, we're in for something good. Read Full Review

Rise of Black Panther is still good but seeing as how this is the midpoint of this mini-series, they need advance the story a lot. This is conceptually good but execution was wanting. Also, while the introduction of other characters like Namor, Nick Fury, and others is necessary to situate within the Marvel Universe, it doesn't feel as natural as in previous issues. Get this because it is part of a larger story of T'Challa's journey but I am really hoping for improvement next issue. Read Full Review

I do wish that I could recommend this one, but the appalling about of text and the massive damage it does to the pacing is unforgivable. Give this a hard pass. Even the presence of the Winter Soldier can't save it. Read Full Review

I was very disappointed by issue 2. That much that I was ready to didn't take this third issue. That would have be so dumb. I'm so happy to have listen to my inner voice. This isn't a good story. It's a F... great story. Festival, we have the REAL NICK FURY (THANK YOU for that). We have interesting & intelligent retcon of the wakanda history in the marvel Univers. With good question. The only part that did bother me was Winter Soldier involvement (And it's important to highlighting the fact Bucky didn't Talk, but that Tchalla assign him is code name right). I would loved that the Writing pool have name the flight a Quinjet already. I think they miss something there. It's a very thick (In the good way) story. Thank you for that. Cover - As every time, I loved it & it's link to the story 2/2 Writing - That was well written, Nice & Smart. I like written who know that we can understand & overcome smart story. 3/3 Arts - Man I like the arts. Maybe too much panel but without that the story would have been cut, and that would be bad. 3/3 Feeling - If you didn't take it already wait for the TPB. 2/2 more

T'Challa springs an abrupt intro between Wakanda and the outside world. Both his court and the world are surprised, but the goons who sicced the Winter Soldier on him win top "bad idea" honors. The fight is tasty, livening up this issue's big servings of realpolitik and continuity porn. I can recognize that the sheer density of this issue might disagree with some readers, but it fits my palette precisely. I'm loving this; the visuals are still superb and the words are getting tighter and more economical without surrendering their audacity.

Still a really great story for those wanting to get into Black Panther. Art is great and the action is fun. The dialogue in the fight was a little sci-fi tech heavy but the comic moves well and looks great. I think this book is hitting an interesting place with people looking for jump on points for Black Panther. I love the current run on Black Panther in the main book but expanding the Black Panther book somehow would be nice. Maybe send a little love to that Storm book we once talked about. Pick it up and keep reading.

We're halfway through our journey of Black Panther history as Wakanda reveals itself to the world, things are looking like the Black Panther we're more familiar with. It's exciting to see the Winter Soldier and read some spy genre antics.
