I found the artwork to be just as powerful as the story, as the artists did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. You could see the many conflicting emotions Ross was feeling by his facial expressions, thanks to the artist, Geoff Shaw. Red Hulk #3 is a very good now what? issue: Ross escaped his dungeon, but thats hardly the end of his problems. At the same time, Percy digs further into how Ross views warfare. In a larger event where all of Dooms enemies are trying to outthink him, Red Hulk #3 sets up a potentially unique confrontation within the larger, momentarily predictable One World Under Doom framework. Plot This comic supports the ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM event. General Thaddeus Ross, Machine Man, Deathlok, and Dr. Simon Ryker face off against thousands of Doombots who are trying to trap them, but they create an avalanche that gives them time to escape. Ross doesn't have the energy to become Red Hulk, Machine Man's battery is dead, Deathlock is the only one with any stamina, and Riker is trapped. Ross knows that a certain distance away there is a nuclear plant that will help him recharge his energy and become Red Hulk. He knows this because he has been a strategist all his life and for years has studied how to attack Latveria or any other country. Ross, Machine Man, and Deathlok are about to jump into a river that will take them to the plant. Doctor Doom finds out and drops everything he was doing to solve the four's escape and arrives to solve this problem. This comic is incredibly fast-paced, action-packed, and contributes greatly to the ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM storyline, yet it shines on its own. Art It's incredibly detailed with a mind-blowing organic tone, capturing the essence of Ross and Red Hulk, with their facial expressions and the rage behind their every action.
