The team assembled for this run is working in one solid fluid unit. The story has action and thriller aspects to it with some really deep cuts character wise. The shocking revelation in the end brings the whole world of Joe crashing down and invokes emotion and sympathy from the reader. Pepose continues to raise the story's tension level with shocking revelations and a dynamic, fast-paced narrative. Art It has many textures and details that offer a gloomy and dramatic tone in a context of extreme violence and blood. Summary As Joe Garrison discovers the painful truth about the origin of the attack that wiped out his family, the trail of death he leaves in his wake continues to grow with more anger and efficiency.

While bullets fly and bones crunch, this issue delves deeper, exploring the complexities of Joe Garrison and continuing to build-up a surprisingly relatable protagonist. David Pepose has seemingly proved everyone wrong with an immensely interesting new character who many thought would be a cardboard cut-out stand-in for Frank Castle. Instead, we’re getting a new voice that already feels completely organic and understandable, with a story that has plenty of of homages to classic Punisher tales. I’ve been highly impressed and already want more.

It's pretty decent. There's not much wrong with it. There's just nothing that make it feel epic. Which is fine for now. It does have moments that feel like a Punisher book of old, just needs a little more excitement.

It's really a pity that this series is saddled with its crass connection to the Punisher. Strip that away, and it's a great, cinematic, tough-guy thriller. It's replete with cool one-liners, inventive fights, and powerful art. But you can't get the poison out of the apple when it comes from the soil beneath the tree.

I like the set up for the Offer, but then he sees the Joe during his mission. However, suddenly all of the action switches to the Offer's apartment where he has to fight the "Night Club." He takes them all out quite easily. I did like the fight with Taskmaster's daughter, but why didn't he keep the glove and why were the baddies all split up. It makes no sense. Dropping the Offer from twenty stories in the air, regardless of the awning and car would make him quite dead. I hope this series gets better. Cringe dialog, cringe villains, cringe hero. I love the punisher, but this is bad. Plus, it's $5 and the same number of pages when was a lot cheaper.
