Dec 14, 2023Working in tandem with Watchers artwork maintains that balance, as the action beats sell the fantastical while the tighter character moments humanize this new Punisher in a way that many action oriented stories are lacking. Layer in Browns oscillating color palettes that evoke the realism of Marvel streets and high flying adventures of superspies, and the book delivers on the promise of a compelling read. This issue affirms that Punisher is a perfect place for new, lapsed, and consistent Marvel readers alike, making the most of its premise, titular legacy, and opportunity to do something original in an interconnected universe. Dec 13, 2023The team assembled for this run is working in one solid fluid unit. The story has action and thriller aspects to it with some really deep cuts character wise. The shocking revelation in the end brings the whole world of Joe crashing down and invokes emotion and sympathy from the reader. The action is top notch, and I love the teases we get for the next issue like a Saturday morning cartoon. Read Full Review

Dec 13, 2023Punisher #2 is a hell of a second issue that changes up the character enough to make Joe Garrison stand apart from all of the others who have worn the skull. It also keeps the mystery going as to who was behind the murders making it all the more exciting to see who will next to be punished. Read Full Review

Dec 13, 2023Punisher #2 delivers a tried and true Punisher story, which is both positive and negative. On the positive side, the scenario, the art, and the character work feel like an authentic Punisher comic. On the negative side, Joe Garrison may as well be a Frank Castle clone because nothing about this version of Punisher sets him apart, including the plot. Read Full Review
