Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin

    Apr 18, 2018

Kamala Khan has always been easy to fall in love with. If the past 47 issues have done the trick and turned youinto an adoring follower, this latest piece of her story is positively unmissable. Ms. Marvel #29 is a beautiful journey into the briar patch of love, and every step is going to be rewarding for Kamala fans. Some might be painful, but you will be delighted to have made the trip. Even though the issue is setting up a bigger story, there's no lacking in depth and meaning. Kamala's growth as a person is every bit as important as her heroics. No issue makes that more clear than this one. Read Full Review

MS MARVEL #29 showcases the narration as furthering the plot, and the dialogue as fleshing out characters. The illustration has very clean and intentional detail. The coloring grounds the reader through the down to earth feeling it creates. Overall it's a strong addition to the series. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Aaron Anderson

This is an excellent comic series that gives you the Peter Parker in school vibe of yesteryear but filtered through the eyes of a Pakistani American girl.  Nico Leon does Adrian Alphona levels of artwork in this book. Its fun teenage angst at its best. I loved this comic when I read it out of context having not read much of this series before. So much so that I went back and immediately started reading Ms. Marvel from the beginning. Then I enjoyed that so much I went and bought G. Willow Wilson's two published novels. The Butterfly Mosque and Alif the Unseen which I look forward to reading this summer on the beach. Read Full Review
