Miles Morales #7is the best kind of popcorn action comic. It's got big action and big heart, peppering its quick pace with illustrations drenched in adrenaline. Ziglar has the panels framed on the right combination of characters. Miles looks good when squaring off against Carnage. The additional focus on Taskmaster and Frye and company adds a bit of accent around the edges of the action for a really striking visual punch. The constant beat of the action throughout the issue feels like a solid progression of tension, which should meet a hopefully satisfying resolution next issue. Ziglar isnt trying anything that hasnt been tried on some level before a million times. (Carnage and other symbiotes have been inciting chaos for decades now.) In my opinion, the issues in this crossover written by Ziglar have been the strongest ones and this is another example of that. I really enjoyed how he wrote everyone here, even if he made Miles say "OMG" at one point instead of the actual words. Plus, Vicentini's art in this series continues to be great, and I always look forward to the splash page he does in each issue.

Not bad as far as an issue being part of a continuing event goes. Lots of good action and killer art. And it's always fun to see how Miles interacts with others when put on a team. I will say that I'm looking forward to getting back to the more personal story arcs for the series where, so far, Ziglar's done his best work on Miles and his supporting cast. This issue isn't exactly a "too many cooks in the kitchen" sort of deal with the overall event and multiple writers handling it. But having this crossover event go down so early into Mie's new run does make me wish they put this on hold for a bit until there were a few more personal arcs penned by Ziglar's hand.

It's a lot of fast, frenetic action, and the heroes don't make much progress at all until Tony Stark shows up to do The Thing in the last scene. There's nothing inherently wrong with spending most of an issue in a combat holding pattern; this is hardly the first comic to do that. The words and art could do a lot more to make the wait interesting, though.

This just seemed really bland. Typical banter while fighting the villain and Tony Stark just felt off. Not a big fan of this issue.
