Mar 04, 2020Iron Man 2020 #3 is an interesting book limited by a lack of true depth in the characterization of the various supporting characters. We see many only friends in passing, but it feels more like a cameo than a true chance to visit the AI and examine what differentiates them from each other. Given Tony's status at the end of this issue, we will likely get a lot more focus on the supporting cast in the remainder of this crossover. As it is this issue caps an interesting beginning to the conflict to come. Read Full Review

" Working ? Of course not. I was always the smarter one, between me and Tony. And you're just a poor man's copy of him. " - IRON MAN (ARNO STARK)

Prelude: I've been enjoying Iron Man 2020 so far, so let's see how it goes here. The Good: I like Woods' art. The Bad: Mark One's death didn't do much. Conclusion: It's passable. That's it.

It had some really good moments but overall there is not the feeling of a great story. Typical Slott work.

This was fine, but this series feels like it hasn't really started yet, despite us being at the halfway point.

Arno captures Mark One and the plot grinds to a halt as he makes a classic (bad classic) villain speech. It's equal parts recap and "come join me" pitch, with Pseudo-Tony obviously rejecting the latter. It's written just fine and the art is pretty great, but the big problem is that although Pseudo-Tony needs the catch-up, us readers already know about 90% of what Arno says.
