Gamora merged the souls of her universe to stave off Devondra, a soul eating entity that's been wreaking havoc across the multiverse. It's the monster inside the soul gem. She does this as a way to get the heroes fighting against her out of the way and to keep Devondra at bay long enough to figure out how to stop it. As for Moondragon, she was dead until Bendis brought her back, which is the only reason he'd know that she was alive. That doesn't make Duggan's continuity flub any better though.

Sep 12, 2018If Infinity Wars continues down this path, good things will follow. They must, however, see it through. Making Gamora the baddie immediately was a bold move, but this cannot be another Civil War or Civil War II or name-your-event moment. Follow through on this one and see the story out. Sep 13, 2018If you've read the first two issues of Infinity Wars, you'll know that pretty much anything can happen at this point in Gamora's joyride with the Infinity Stones, and that's a lot of fun. This issue is packed with worldbuilding for next phase of the event and the team executes this story well. This is getting in WTF territory story wise. Duggan does not have or relay much clarity for motives of characters which leaves me with an empty feeling reading this 3rd chapter. The art saves this issue really. Let's hope it gets better in the next one.

Infinity Wars #3 focuses almost entirely on two characters--Gamora and Loki (currently the most overused villain in the Marvel Universe). This issue lacks the drama of the issues preceding it. Gerry Duggan's scripting is readable and witty (as usual), but the story's pace slows to a crawl. The primary purpose seems to be setting-up spinoffs--which makes one wonder whether the primary purpose of this event series is to get people to buy more comics. Is there a story that matters here? It's not yet clear. The book continues to look great. Mike Deodato's art and Frank Martin's colors are consistently strong from start to finish. But the visuals are not enough to keep this issue from falling flat.

The main thing I would say about this story is it needs to decide what it is. It's to many parts and not enough whole. The ideas are there but their executed poorly. Gamora and that sword is dope visually and I like the Thanos ghost. The warps look cool even if little to no care is put into them in the main event

It is just not meant to be for him. Even the Infinity Countdown, in which i very much enjoyed for the most part, was basically a Guardians of the Galaxy story. He is just not good in writing the other Marvel characters except for the comedic ones like the Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool. Maybe writing Spiderman fits him too. A blatant setup issue to sell the gimmick Warps comics. Not a lot actually happened beyond that. Gamora continues to be wholly unconvincing as a villain and the only good thing about this is the art.

Massive letdown after so many great issues by Duggan. I don't understand Gamora's reasoning at all, as well as everything is getting really confusing. Characters appearing out of nowhere, and Deodato's artwork does not help it at all. I hope the next issue will deliver more answers.

After Gamora squishes all her potential opposition into a ridiculous mashup pocket universe (i.e. a holding pattern), she focuses on the one mysterious place hidden from her nigh-omnipotent sight. This issue auditions several different partnerships that could be used to exposit the main event's plot: Gamora/Loki, Gamora/Thanos's Ghost, Loki/Flowa, Gamora/Flowa. I think it's unfortunate that the author settles on the last one; it seems less interesting than the others. While neither the script nor the art strike me as criminally bad, my reaction to both settles firmly on "blah." Too talkative & not very good. I find Gamora boring. Cover - The connecting - Nice not related. 1/2 Writing - Worse & worse with each issue. 1/3 Arts - Love the art. Next time I see deodato on a crossover I will have to resist because I didn't like this story or Original sin. 3/3 Feeling - I was wrong to trust marvel on this ! 0/2

Oh dear... suddenly I am not liking the direction of this story. It went full gimmick and the excuse for it is a little goofy. The one-shots should be fun, but I now fear for the main event.

Everything has gone from bad to worse, for the characters but especially for the narrative which is a mess. Gamora doesn't have a solid motivation for why she is doing any of this. characters stand around and do nothing except quip plot. Characters are dead now for some reason (hello? moondragon is alive, Duggan. even Bendis knew that) Deodato's messy paneling doesn't help the already messy plot. This event had a shakey start and just keeps crashing. Do yourself a favour and save the money on this one.

If you loved classics like Axis and Fear Itself this is right up your alley. Oh, you didn't. But maybe you loved the Hydra Cap story. Oh you didn't. Well, Marvel goes for it again with Gamora creating an alternative universe where several heroes are merged and you end up with such interesting concepts as Soldier Supreme and Weapon Hex. This is not that bad a concept, but it happens for absolutely np reason and it absolutely doesn't make sense, nor does Gamora's quest. No character gets any decent time besides Gamora, Loki and a new old Valkyrie named Growa. Mike Deodato's art continues to be a terrible fit for the story and the stakes seem to be absolutely zero.
