Aug 27, 2025Imperial War: Planet She-Hulk #1 is a smartly written and entertaining one-shot that plays to She-Hulk's strengths as both lawyer and superhero. While its narrow focus may not move the Imperial War saga forward in a big way, it succeeds as a character-driven mystery that blends humor, action, and alien politics into an enjoyable read. Aug 27, 2025Imperial War: Planet She-Hulk #1 is a disappointing chapter in Marvel's growing Imperial saga that some may have fun with, but shoots itself in the foot with a 'shaggy dog' narrative and traditional She-Hulk tone that misses the appeal of seeing Jennifer in a setting ripe with world-building potential and weight. I thoroughly enjoyed this issue. Great one-shot story, a murder mystery that's pretty obvious from the beginning (or at least as soon as the medical examiner lists the different ways the victim might have died). The conclusion and wrap up was humorous and entertaining as well. Great writing and solid art.

I'm trying to capture this as a amateur reviewer: - She Hulk means = fun detective work, not to serious reading. So JH nailed that one. - Its has a completely different vibe than the imperial series. - Art isn't wauwie - Story wise its ok Would I still recommend it? Only when you're buying into the whole imperial war event.
