After seeing what Peter can do in this issue, it seems it would be easy to pop by Earth and dispatch Knull, but Ewing has planned for that. There are other forces at place in the stars that require his and the Guardians' attention. We're not going on that detour as this story needs to go forward. If youre a VENOM fan looking for a KING IN BLACK story, this wont do it for you. Knull is an oddly misrepresented White Walker who speaks in lyrical rhymes that appear to come from a poorly portrayed David Lynch movie. Nonetheless, if you came to this rodeo for a solid GOTG story centered around Star-Lord with its driving force to right the ship of his character, you will be pleased. I'm still loving this series. I was worried this issue would be a wasted tie in issue but I thought it worked really well and used the event in a reasonable way while still pushing the main GotG plot forward with StarLord. I'm excited for more. The new OP Quill I like. I hope he gets his fun personality back but it's understandable he seems out of touch as he's been away over a 100 flarking years now. Really, he'd barely remember the old team. Anyway, read this series. Still have fingers crossed that Genis-vell could make a return here sometime!

This was good and actually kept my attention and used the Knull nonsense to advance its own narrative. I don t care about Knull at all like null. Im glad Ewing still played with the concept for his own gain. The art is fantastic as always with Cabal delivering sharp and clean mashups and layouts.

Star-Lord's return would be a giant boon in the war against Knull, but his new cosmic power comes with strings attached. His team is grateful to have him back, but also unnerved by his sheer power level. Storytelling has backed off a little since the wild previous issue, but the developments are still plenty fascinating.

The tie-in drags this one down a bit, but I can't even argue with writing this good, much less the art which is really incredible in this issue. Cabal really outdid himself here; this is one of the most downright pretty comics I've read in a good long while.

His time away has left him a changed being a true Starlord, the master of the sun. Peter is able to focus his abilities through the elemental guns and destroy Knull’s influence and reach upon Spartax. Fearing the worst for Earth, the Guardians wish to lend their aid but Peter warns that would be the worst thing they could do, as the God s of Olympus have returned. I know I’m beating a dead horse, but I miss Annihilation/GotG vol. 2 era Starlord. But whatever, things change and I’ll keep an open mind towards his new direction. I’m just beyond happy that Richard Rider is finally being used properly! I love this Alien variant cover. The title of this issue is hilarious because I literally think that every time I see Knull. This review is more bashing these stupid events than anything just so anyone who reads this will be warned lol.Good artwork. But it was such pointless tie in to KIB. I'm so tired of Marvel and these big events. Let ONE writer make ONE storyline that doesn't have 50 tie in and spin offs that completely water down the story. It's bad enough they are making mini series but at least I can just skip those and miss absolutely nothing important to the main storyline. But it really grinds my gears when they add these tie ins to current runs of titles. Keep the forced tie in to Venom only since it shouldn't have been a huge event in the first place and should have been told in the pages of Venom.That being said next issue seems like it could be cool and back on track. more
