Ghost Rider #6

Fantastic issue, feels like I got two comic books for the price of one. Juan Frigeri brings some excellent art to the table and when you see his Johnny Blaze on the last page you will be wanting more. Ed Brisson does a great job of balancing time and story between the two Riders and all the guest stars...this looks like it could be building towards a Marvel Event or just some amazing story in Ghost Rider; get this book on your pull list asap. This issue provides a ton of enjoyment. It has a couple battles that don't overwhelm the issue allowing the good guys to fight but also allowing for conversation. The more concentrated focus on characters I am familiar with probably helped keep me into the story. Johnny Blaze getting power juiced up definitely ramps up the intensity. He is going to need it with all the Baddies that Hell has unleashed, the fury of a woman scorn. Read Full Review

The cameos from Marvel's edgier characters"you know, like Punisher and Wolverine"still feel really hollow; instead of diving into Danny Ketch's massive transformation, it feels the character is using the aforementioned A-list names as a crutch to hobble along. Read Full Review

Prelude: I've really been enjoying Ghost Rider so far so let's see how this issue goes. The Good: Liking the Danny side of the story, I'm liking what I see from the Spirit of Corruption. Johnny's story is heating up too, getting some Spawn vibes currently. Frigeri's art is nice. The Bad: I think Strange could've deescalated the situation a bit better but Johnny and Mephisto as well... so maybe not completely feasible. Conclusion: A very good issue with no real faults. Can't wait to see where this series goes.

Logan saying he has never been half as screwed up as Danny and Johnny... says it all. Ghost Rider with horns looks badass.

Really like the art in this one and it was a good read and one of the better issues in the run.

I'm still not a big Ghost Rider lore-guy. Is "exposition hydrant" always the Caretaker's job? I really appreciate her insights here -- but on the other hand, them being so sorely-needed isn't entirely a good thing, is it?
