Emma Frost: The White Queen #2

Chu has fun with the closing letter...a fun, little casually mind-bending bit of text delivered entirely as a letter to the reader from the title character herself. Shes always been remarkably appealing in a number of different ways. Chu taps into that appeal from an interesting angle in the closing comments from the title character. Shes classy, dominant and a hell of a lot of fun now that shes had a chance to fully emerge from the first issue of her series. Heres looking forward to much more from Frost in the future. Emma Frost: The White Queen #2 balances intrigue, action, and character insight well, especially in its globe-trotting, Hellfire Club-fueled mystery, but it stumbles slightly in its final moments, trading sharp pacing for indulgent filler. I'm really enjoying this series. The idea of putting this story back in the time of teh 1960s and 1970s where Emma was still part of the Hellfire Club was a good idea. The appearance of the X-Men in first issue was great. I like all of the backstabbing going on and the little cage battle where she shows her prowess with the rapier.
