Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #2 clarifies the backstory behind Doctor Strange's current predicament and adds a weirdly bizarre mix of religion, ancient legends, and lore for a truly unique experience. In fairness, the mix of concepts makes this issue a dense, heavy read that doesn't always remain lucid, but the experience is fascinating enough to keep going. Read Full Review

I picked up the first for the art alone, and was surprised by the writing. The second is continuing to bring depth to the writing that I didn’t expect. How is this not more popular? Books like this are why I don’t settle for tpbs and omnibuses. Buy a copy for your collection, and a copy for your bedside. You’ll never grow tired of a revisit.

Whoa...I thought the first issue was decent, but this one blew me away. We get a few answers as to what in the ever-loving crap is going on, and the art it absolutely jaw-dropping.

I'd be lying if I said I completely followed the story, but if you don't mind things that sacrifice clarity for creative ambition, this is pretty incredible. Uncontestedly the most visually astonishing book I read in 2022

This is exactly how good you need to be to do "weird for the sake of weird" and pull it off. No, that's too trite. What distinguishes this issue and makes me rate it higher than #1 are the strong islands of rational plotting that rise from the weirdness. There *is* a fascinating story here (not to mention a comprehensive, unique cosmology), and it's a perfect match for the gorgeous, surreal art. Is it clear? Easy to understand? Definitely not. But there's nothing else I'd rather be reading this week.
