Despite some of the less inspired artistic choices, “The Night of Four Billion Nightmares”is another great issue in Doctor Strange's wonderfully weird new run. It continues to flesh out the Sorcerer Supreme's characterization with nuance, all while offering some memorable showdowns. While Wong and Zelma take a bit more of a backseat than some might prefer, and one half of the comic will please some more than others, what is present is a solid story that allows for some fantastic art and some great panel-work. Sadly, I wish there were more of what makes this comic great packed into this issue, but at least the character who appears at this comics end promises, if anything, loads more weirdness and strangeness to come in this runs future. Aaron is cutting deep here into the character of Stephen Strange and how much the ruin of his hands has changed him on a fundamental level. For Strange to accept this reality would be to reject all of the changes he has made for decades. Here's a filler issue to expand this story arc into a neat five- or six-issue trade paperback collection. This is the second time the series has clearly done it. I've about had it, this book is an absolute rip-off since you need read only two-thirds of the issues that are released. This comic book deserves a FU 5 because it always seems to be biding its time and I'm growing less interested in the potential payoff by the issue. Read Full Review

Everyone smells blood in the aether and wants a piece of the doctor. Nightmare scares up this issue with a very sexy and fun nightmare. LOL. I really like how everyone sees how weak Dr. Strange is and does their best to be the one who ends him. I can't wait to see what the next villain is going to do. The art and coloring Bachalo, Fabela and Tartaglia are precisely what this comic needs. Overall a sharp issue and can't wait for the next edition.

I will be honest I never loved Nightmare. The Freddy Kruger of the Marvel universe never seemed like much of a threat. This issue had me won over though. Seeing Stephan in a confused state stuck in his dreams seemed more thrilling then I would have guessed. This was a good installment in the rogues gallery returning to strike Doctor Strange while he is down. I can't wait to see what the team brings about next.

Fun, creative issue. I'm enjoying this arc a lot more than Last Days of Magic actually, very imaginative storytelling with each issue seemingly focusing on a different member of the Doctor Strange rogues gallery. Bachalo's art is a win for me, very stylistic and colorful.
