Doctor Strange: Last Days of Magic is simply excellent from beginning to end. Read Full Review

More ancillary than required reading, Doctor Strange: Last Days of Magic #1 is a nice companion piece that gives the Marvel Universe more mystics while also affording Doctor Voodoo room to grow without the trappings of a team book. More than once I found myself thinking this special expands the "Last Days of Magic" story to make it not unlike "Spider-Verse": characters are spun (no pun intended) out of an established character with plenty of potential to grow and develop. I just hope some of these new players survive the tale so readers can see what Aaron and company can do with them in further adventures. Read Full Review

If you don't feel like wandering outside of the main continuity of the ongoing series, it doesn't currently seem necessary to pick up a copy of Doctor Strange: The Last Days of Magic. Instead, it serves as an excellent introduction to the wider magical universe and some Marvel characters that may not be familiar to newer audiences. It also serves as further evidence that Aaron's skills as a writer don't simply lie in the ability to tell a good story, but rather in the ability to build a world around them. Read Full Review

Doctor Strange: The Last Days of Magic has some great stories, but $5.99 is a hefty price tag to get over psychologically, even though we regularly pay $3.99 for 22 pages and here we get forty-five pages. I was entertained but other readers may find the price a bit too steep, especially since this isn't necessarily "required reading" to enjoy the main Doctor Strange series. Is this worth the price? To me yes, since I order these with a hefty discount on-line, but I'd have a hard time shelling out the the full $6 at the shop and would probably try to find it cheaper at a later date if faced with paying full price. In the end, "Doctor Strange: Last Days of Magic" #1 is an issue meant to supplement the current arc for "Doctor Strange" readers. However, it's hit-or-miss at best, as it doesn't spend enough time on the more enjoyable characters or concepts of the Marvel universe. Read Full Review

Kinda really not necessary. They have some low rent mages. I really wished they would have focused more on the big names like Scarlet Witch, Illyana and people of the like. And art is low budget. But overall kinda cool. Love the Wu and her story line.

A mixed bag. The parts by Aaron and Leonardo Romero were excellent, introducing new intriguing players that will probably show up in the coming "Doctor Strange" issues. The rest, without being bad, felt a bit dull.

Very little too do with whats going on, poor art work but overall it serves the purpose to introduce some new interesting characters

Read this as if it is Doctor Strange #6.5 since it takes place after #6 but before #7. On the one hand, I doubt anything that happens in this issue will be relevant later in the Last Days of Magic arc. On the other hand, we do get introduced to some interesting new magic characters for the first time which may or may not appear in future Marvel comics. The writing is pretty good considering that it is just a series of short stories woven together. The page count would seem to justify the inflated price tag, but the art gets pretty rough at times, so I wouldn't say you are getting your money's worth exactly. I don't think anyone is fooled, this is clearly a cash grab from Marvel in an attempt to get some extra bucks off of the popular Doctor more

Cash grab with bad art. Only 1 guy in this book will be in the main story so no need to read this. Stay to the main story you won't be missin anything trust me.
