Daredevil #603 is a fairly slow issue without some of the edges recent issues of the series have had, but it is still a fairly enjoyable comic. Charles Soule has made this run of the series his own and remade it a few times since then, and its been a while since an issue has underperformed. This one doesnt break that streak, and I can recommend it as a result. Pick it up. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson

    May 31, 2018

Daredevil #603 continues Matt Murdock's struggle of juggling being Mayor and Daredevil at the same time. The Hand attacking has not made anything any easier for "The Devil of Hell's Kitchen". For me, this current story arc of Daredevil is stuck in the middle. It is not terrible or bad, then again it is not the greatest thing ever either. It does different things while doing the same thing which is what most ongoing superhero comics do. It does have me coming back each month so, there is something to that. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Brandon Lawrence

    May 31, 2018

We're getting to the crescendo of the Hand attack. You might be able to guess from the cover. I couldn't help but shudder from flashbacks of "Fear Itself". It was telegraphed REALLY big, too. When Murdock starts to dramatically monologue about how brave and resistant to fear New Yorkers are, there was only one direction the plot could go. I'm going to spend the next month praying to Jesus? Soule? (Hell, the Goddamn Beast if it works): that this story doesn't dissolve into a cliche salad. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

Daredevil #603 is a strong set-up issue that makes the threat the Beast and Hand pose to New York City to be off the charts. The pacing of this issue helped drive home how desperate things have gotten for Daredevil as he recruits villains he recently put in prison. That act along with other decisions that are made all create greater interest in what Charles Soule has planned for this series. Read Full Review

It's getting desperate and Matt resorts to help from criminals. Meanwhile, The Hand unleashes a deadly fog on the city of NYC and it seems like Father Jordan might have an answer to how to stop this. All around this was another great issue that kept complicating things for Matt and adding new players to the story.

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. If you haven't been following along at home, here is a quick recap of what's been happening in Daredevil. The Hand has taken over NYC and the Beast, a demonic leader of the Hand, is also here. No one entirely knows why the Beast wants NYC... but he does. Kingpin was Mayor BUT the Hand gunned him down leaving the Deputy Mayor Matt Murdock in charge. Fisk is still alive but in a coma. So, Matt has been trying his best to piece NYC together as the new Mayor AND as Daredevil... of course with the help of his New Deputy Mayor Foggy. This issue opens with a character w more

Daredevil's plans to defend against the Hand look mighty questionable, and that's before the Beast releases a cloud of Green Yick over the city. The plot barrels along speedily, but Matt comes off unlovably smug in both words and art. The initial Elektra scene offers some wonderfully choreographed action.

Wasn't really a fan of this issue. The hand takes over the city, Matt Murdock, who is the mayor, must have any enforcement possible at his disposal and he chooses to let those people put to solve his problem??? Also, the end was kind of weird. I know some people don't like Henderson on art. I think he is good, but this story really let itself go.

I think it's time for change of writer on Daredevil. Soule's run has been mediocre at best. Henderson's art doesn't work well with Daredevil either.
