One of those issues that dives into the hero's psyche. In this case, the psyche of a middle aged man in 1969 who feels that outer displays of fear threaten his masculinity. Somehow, this is the greatest threat he's faced yet!

(Cover Date: August, 1969) Summary: DD walks the street, trying to understand his display of cowardice against Mr. Fear. DD has another episode of fear after he tries to stop two muggers. DD has Foggy call the prison warden to have access to Mr. Fear's file. DD confronts Mr. Fear during an armored car robbery. DD unmasks Mr. Fear who is revealed to be Starr Saxon. Saxon killed the original Mr. Fear & placed his fear-gas pellets in DD's billy club when he had it. Saxon lunges for the billy club & falls off his flying disk to his death.
