Thompson manages some really sharp moments in a very stylish issue, but there isnt a whole lot of mystery lurking around the edges of everything. Minor subplots can be a bit of a distraction, though. When all is said and done, Black Widow #6delivers a strong start to what could be the beginning of something new for Natasha. While Im not an expert on the character, if Thompson and company are heading her down the path I think they are, it should be exciting new territory for the Spy Supreme. Issue #6 chucks us headfirst into the new arc, is long on action but short on concrete answers as it cultivates an air of mystery around Black Widow and the White Widows' new mission. It's just the right blend of mystery and action to make you invest in this new storyline. Read Full Review

As each issue is released Kelly Thompson has established Black Widow as one of the best titles published by Marvel. Black Widow #6 is further proof of that as it carries the momentum created by the first story arc of this series forward in a positive direction. Thompson does a fantastic job showing how Natasha Romanoff plans on being proactive in taking down the threat of Apogee that has come after her. The artwork by Rafael De Latorre and Jordie Bellaire further elevates the story that takes place in this issue. Read Full Review

While the Apogee henchmen are monstrous and fearsome, none turn out to be all that memorable (although their combined threat does push Black Widow further than any individual fighter would). Now that she's save the girl, so to speak, what's next for the Black Widow and the odd collection of supporting characters she's putting together? Read Full Review

The artist here, while not as good as the main artist, did a fine job. The story was more of an action set piece, but it was well done!

The Black Widow blasts into an action-heavy start to her latest arc, clobbering a horde of super-powered goons in pursuit of her mysterious new antagonist, Apogee. To relieve the action, this issue also establishes longer-term mysteries and introduces a compelling new supporting character: A young pickpocket who tries to lift Natasha's wallet. The pickpocket is elegantly stitched into the action story by the end of the issue; that delivers one nice payoff while leaving a lot of mysteries on the table. The art is solid and continues to echo the groundbreaking work of Elena Casagrande; the script is even better than the visuals, landing right next door to perfect.

Slightly weaker than the previous issues, though it's still very good. Ends quite fast, but manages to leave you wanting more. Really beautiful art by de Latorre here.
