Suffice it to say that this is now the third fantastic presentation of the Wakandan monarch in a row, showcasing the grandiose backdrop that sets the stage for T'challa's tale. Black Panther #3 looks great and has a couple of slick action scenes but the net progress of the story doesn't get very far. Riley seems intent on using this issue to build out relationships and share feelings without making any progress on the conflict at hand, and while that makes for an interesting character issue, some may view it as filler. This whole comic kicked ass! Every story introduced new and interesting characters and groups. T'Challa wants to be king but the weight and pain of loss is starting to get to him; excellent writing by Ridley!

The main plot is truncated for the anniversary issue, but great art, some nice characterization and the introduction of a possibly cool new character in the second backup. Good issue, good series so far.

I'm loving this new BP series. I waited a while after Coates very intriguing interpretation. What Ridley is getting right here is pacing an unraveling mystery while still maintaining the always guarded persona that is T'Challa. Having sleeper agents is an ever evolving spin on this round of T'Challa really not trusting anyone. 2nd story read and was drawn just like a folklore story take, with a word-of-mouth/legend tale like plot. The third story was interesting. Cool to see people Learning to manipulate vibranium in a way that gives them "powers". Just like I was for I Am Batman, I'm looking forward to the next issue here.

I think, with the main story alone, I would have given this an 8.5/10. I thought it was, once again, well-written and I liked the interactions T'Challa had with Storm and Gentle. I will say that I preferred Moustafa's art to Cabal's, though both were good. I'm not usually a fan of the art changing midway through the issue, but, at least, everything we got was good and the change in artists actually made a little sense with the setting changing from Earth to Arakko. As for the backup stories, they didn't really do much for me. Ba's story had some nice art, but the story and writing were lacking for me. Ridley's second story about Tosin wasn't bad, but it was a little bit of a letdown after hearing so much hype and speculation surrounding Tos in when this was coming out. For both of these backups, I felt like they kind of dragged on too long and I feel like these pages could have been used to make the main story longer or, perhaps, these just didn't need to be here at all. more

Very good first story, the second one was very stupid, Juni Ba shouldn't receive more chances to write stupid comics and the third one was pretty meh.

This was a pretty good issue. The pacing could have been a bit better, but I enjoyed myself. The backups were not quite so successful. The first being a play on Androcles and the Lion, obviously. It was neat, but I'm not sure it was a necessary addition. The second backup... I couldn't tell you what I really think of that, it was forgettable.

This issue is a dang high-wire act. It's sparse and slow and even repetitive. The art has a few sparks of greatness, but it's mainly just OK. The two artists' styles don't complement each other very well. And then there's that twist in the final scene. T'Challa and the author being clever enough -- *just* clever enough -- to redeem themselves. So I'm still reading and still calling it good. The backup strips are decent. The B strip is cute. The C strip gets me interested in New Guy Tosin and his people. I really wish it didn't spoil where the main story is headed, though.
