That being said, this is an improvement over the previous issue, bolstered by a nice showdown between Black Panther and Klaw that show’s off the hero’s intelligence in addition to his physical might. Black Panther #171 is a much-needed and highly enjoyable crescendo to Avengers of the New World. It holds together well throughout, even if its later than it should have been. Coates gives us what we've been waiting for and it's Klaw and Black Panther mano a mano. There are answers to the question of who has been pulling the strings all along and what this whole war was all about. We see who comes through the door and I'm surprised. I'm sure you will be. THis is another great comic by the author! I love the way that Ororo is working herself back into the comic! I always felt that she was a natural match with BP could be be seeing another wedding between the two? What about children?. However, seeing the reconciliation with the Dora Milaje was really good. The fighting was good as well as seeing Klaw be outfoxed. The true revelation was Okoye and THunderball! But I was most happy to see Kasper back in play!

The team behind Black Panther is doing an overall fun job with the character and stories. Coates does a great job of reaching back in Marvel history to expand on the Black Panther mythos. This is a title worth reading.

Another great issue from Coates. We pump up the action in this issue and finally see who has been pulling the strings and attacking Wakanda (remarkable choice for a villain). Coates has begun to dig deep into Marvel history and I think that shows his dedication to comic book writing. This gives me hope for his upcoming Captain America book that I think many will complain about just because of who Coates is. On to the review. Expect high action and pay off from all the world building done in this book. Kirk does solid art all around in this book. The stakes continue to grow from page to page. One thing I think is odd is that this arc is named for Klaw but I don't think Klaw was ever that huge a factor. It was still a very enjoyable arc f or me and I think traditional fans will like the focus being more on Black Pather then the world of Wakanda. I think Coates has found a balance and is raising the stock of many characters. I have high hopes for the upcoming book featuring the Dora Milaje. more

The Panther settles his statecraft scores and puts Klaw down. A gentle interrogation of Asira unmasks Wakanda's true adversary on the supernatural front. I'm both impressed and infuriated by the perfect execution of the last-page surprise villain reveal. It makes a great dramatic capstone to the plot, but its impact also hinges on how well you know Storm's backstory. The visuals for this big fight issue are strong, but they don't capture quite as much motion as they could/should. Visually and textually this lands soundly in "good" territory, but for me, it definitely falls short of "great."
