Two issues in, and the Infinity Score storyline is proving to be a lot of fun. MacKay has had enough time with Black Cat that hes able to play a little bit with the relationship hes developed with her. There seems to be an areal connection between artist and writer that allows for some really fun energy. Once again, it is becoming very apparent that Black Cat is one of the most appealing characters in the whole of the Marvel Universe, thanks to MacKay. The Spider-Mans girlfriend of the past is solidly in the rearview. Shes her own person, and that person is a hell of a lot of fun to hang out with for 20 minutes per month.  Read Full Review

Madonna said it Star light, Star bright, first star I see tonight. Jed and Villa have given it their all with this arc, and they plan to go out with the biggest band for your $3.99 can handle. The art is great, Felicia and the gangs banter and patois keeps the mood light and whimsical, which is a very big plus in my book. Read Full Review

It's not easy to convince incredibly-powered individuals that they need you, but Black Cat uses events to make a pretty strong case to not one but two villains here. Felicia offers Star a plausible story for why an employer may want with Star and others with powers, although it seems far more likely a cover story to what Felicia is really after. Read Full Review

The Black Cat goes full saleswoman to recruit Star. Then she and her boys capture Overtime, and she starts the sales pitch again. There's brilliant parallelism in the way this issue begins and ends. In between, oodles of style and humor in Felicia's voice, excellent art, and great action. What puts this within spitting distance of perfect for me is that Felicia is DEFINITELY lying a HELL OF A LOT. It's obvious to us, and yet Felicia's con is perfectly convincing to Star. This is so smart it hurts, but it's not so wrapped up in its smartness that it's afraid to be ridiculously fun and funny.

This Black Cat run is so much fun. I'm sad it's ending soon. But while we have it, it's always a joy to read.

I really enjoyed this issue as stories like this better the series rather than some of the other other-worldly threats that just didn't seem to fit. This issue gave Jed MacKay a chance to write good witty dialogue that is fun and shows how great Felicia is.
