You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Feb 24, 2021Theres little question that Felicia is going to do what shes going to do. Its interesting to see the tipping point which points her in the inevitable direction that she ultimately takes. It reveals a tremendous amount about her as a person. More so than anything else in MacKays impressive run with the Black Cat, this is a very intimate interlude with the title character. In a way, the entire series to this point has been leading to this one issue. In its own way, this is an impressive climax. Itll be interesting to see where MacKay takes Felicia next. Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin
Feb 24, 2021Black Cat #3 pulls off a formidable trick: It maintains the over-the-top cosmic struggle established in previous issues while turning most of its attention to a far more internal conflict. Felicia faces (and, of course, masters) ultimate temptation on her way through the King in Black event. It looks terrific, it sounds brilliant, and it maintains a breakneck action-movie pace -- all while taking an impressively deep look at what makes the Black Cat tick. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez
Feb 24, 2021BLACK CAT #3 takes a break from the outrageous action to walk us down Hardy's memory lane of pains and regrets. When the power of creation offers her the ability to set every wrong right, we get a much deeper sense of authenticity to Hardy's character and an appreciation for the character she's grown into. Feb 24, 2021Sometimes event tie-ins work, and sometimes they don't. Believe it or not, giving Felicia Hardy the most powerful magics in the universe works"and it works damn good, at that. Read Full Review

Mar 03, 2021The issue offers plenty of temptation for the title character, and a surprise for Strange who is astonished she was able to turn away from such power (and avoid creating an even more dangerous situation for everyone) as the title turns its focus back to the larger "King in Black" event. Giving it a 10 still, even though I don't like her white/gold outfit. Blegh but that's just my opinion. The story is good though.

It's just so good. A hidden gem as one reviewer said. One of the best tie-ins and an excellent Felicia Hardy -story.

Really great issue delving into Felicia's history and trauma, disguised as a King in Black tie-in.

Great stuff, it is rare to find writing and art both firing on all cylinders at the same time. The current 'event' has failed to derail the fun, unlike in many other titles. The only flaw was the rather rushed 'temptation of Felicia'. This could have been extended and perhaps could be a future storyline.

Felicia is offered Unlimited Powah and though that sure would make it easy to wrap up King in Black, she saves her soul by rejecting the temptation. It's a pretty standard Faustian bargain-scenario, livened up by razor-sharp writing and outstanding art. It's a rare bit of retrospection into Felicia's past, and it's every bit as enjoyable as the rest of Jed MacKay's take on the Black Cat.
