Black Bolt is in the same vein as Tom King's Vision. A brilliant, abstract, and unique experience that takes a classic Marvel character into a totally different realm. This collection will be a must-own for every collector. Read Full Review

Black Bolt overcomes the Jailer thanks to his loved ones and friends. The issue is deadly serious about that potentially-corny theme, and thank goodness it is. The art is beautiful, the friendships are touching. The logic is questionable at a few points, but there's never been a better demonstration of the fact that a truly great story can leap such gaps effortlessly. While this closes the series in a perfectly satisfying way, it's been such a glorious journey that ending it feels unavoidably sad.

A fitting end to an amazing series. Christian Ward's self described "weird" art was absolutely perfect for Black Bolt and the journey that Saladin Ahmed has taken us on. Should make for a great trade - i've already gotten all 12 issues out and am waiting for a quiet night to read through them in succession. Definitely a home run from Marvel and they should be given credit for thinking outside the box on this one with a very unconventional creative team.

What an amazing ending. I was very hesitant to pick up the first issue, and now, a year later, I am sad to read the final issue of one of my favorite current series. Ahmed has become one of my favorite writers and I will be continuing to follow him, and Ward has once again proven why he is one of the most interesting artists in the industry today.

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. This issue, as well as this run, made me love Crusher so dang much. And this issue doesn't stop that trend at all. Crusher has an opportunity to run off and leave all of this nonsense behind but makes the heroes choice and helps Black Bolt take down the Inhuman-Psychic-Vampire creature that recaptured Black Bolt and Blinky once and for all. Lockjaw, who is truly one of my favorites as well and both of my little boys, gets to make an appearance to help save the day again, and we get a nice wrap up to the story with the reconnect between Medusa and what appears to more

I echo Bleeding Cool - Joshua Davison's blurb review but it wasn't as satisfyingly presented for me. So let's say -1 to his rating.
