I'm not sure that this particular title can make the transition to ongoing series (predicated as it is on the events of Avengers Vs X-Men) but it certainly makes the case for a team-up book finding a regular place on the stands. It's been a joy to follow its plucky partnerships since #1, yet it works just as well as a random impulse buy added to your basket on any given trip to the comic shop. This is an enjoyable, old school, straight forward superhero comic book. Unapologeticallyembracing all the appropriate super hero tropes from crazy science fiction to time travel to evil Nazi robots. If you don't take this series too seriously, it's a good bet that you'll enjoy it. Read Full Review

If anything really lets the book down, it's the price. The fight against $3.99 comics is long over, but material this slight can't help but feel expensive. Its "inessential" nature means it's easy to drop from any pull list, and costly enough to make it hard to dip into. A shame, because it's consistently one of the most fun comics Marvel releases in any given month. If you want to watch Marvel creators truly cut loose, this is easily the best place to do it. The two tales in this week's A + X involve Beast & Spider-Man along with Captain America and Quentin Quire. Neither one is a particularly strong story, but the Beast/Spider-Man one is definitely the better of the two. Read Full Review

The major problem with A+X is its hefty price tag of four bucks. If the cost were less, even $2.99, then maybe the dent in the wallet would be an easier pill to swallow. However, with so many good titles out there on the shelves being released for less than four dollars, A+X just can't justify its expensive price tag. Read Full Review

The beast and Spider Man short story by Kate Andrews was decent, but what stood out to me was the fantastic art, which Kaare Andrews also did. It’s good to see Spider Man depicted as smart, because he actually is very smart but many writers dumb him down for humor, so props again to Andrews for reminding us that before Peter was Spider Man, he was a huge science nerd. The second story is a team up between Captain America and Quentin Quire by Jason Latour. The art was pretty good but the story was extremely boring and it seemed pointless.
