The art is jaw droppingbeautiful and it's a painted (possibly) style that could so easily make the page look too busy but with contrasting colours, empty spaces instead of panel boarders and a clean style each page gives you something special that you get more out of each time you see it. Grab yer backpacks, kids. It's time to go to school. Del Mundo and D'Alfonso are at the chalkboard showing everyone how it's supposed to be done. While nothing much happens in this issue, exquisite craft in story-telling is on display, providing a clear and present danger that the subsequent issues are ensured to be some of the greatest Avengers tales ever told. Despite the fact that the script is basically a long series of narrative captions, the book avoids coming across like a dry summary or Wikipedia entry. Del Mundo's gorgeous, surreal artwork certainly helps with that. This issue is really a chance for del Mundo to cut loose. Read Full Review

Mostly just Kang relishing on his previous victories, but DAMN is it done beautifully. I hope this art team sticks around forever, that ending spread was amazing.

The Mike Del Mundo art on this issue is awe-inspiring. It looks just great. The history of Kang was interestingly written, too, but this stands out as an artistic tour de force.

Del Mundo's art actually pulls through this issue. The double spreads are just so well put together. Kudos to him. The story is just a tad bit cheesy but so is Kang. But that last page is everything. Next issue should be interesting.

A highly artistic backstory for Kang collapses into a final showdown against an all-star Avengers squad. It's a very pretty set of paintings illustrating Kang 101. The art is exceptional, the words less so. I wonder whether hardcore Kang fans will be delighted, bored, or outraged? Personally, though I do love Mike del Mundo's art, I'd rather wrap up the dang Kang story already, and this issue doesn't move very far toward that goal.
