Black Nerd Problems - Brandon Lawrence
Jan 10, 2019This book continues to dazzle not only due to the creators' uncanny storytelling ability but in the directions and focuses they're willing to go. Instead of going from adventure to Earth-shattering adventure there is a strong connective tissue, first in the flashbacks and references to the Avengers' ancient incarnations and now in the introduction of the Agents of Wakanda. I mean, who wouldn't be excited for a character they last saw in Warren Ellis' amazing Thunderbolts run or the widely acclaimed Immortal Iron Fist from Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction. I'm seeing a swelling opportunity for the rest of Marvel Comics to pay close attention to what's going on in these pages. It has the potential to be a strong heart and guiding star for the whole 616. The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally
Jan 09, 2019The art is great in this issue as well. The styles really complement each other and make the story seamless. There are some great reaction panels and you can tell the artists had fun drawing this eclectic group of rogue heroes working behind the scenes (Space Vampires). Its going to be interesting to see where their adventures take them next and whether or not a team book with these Agents of Wakanda might spinoff from their tales. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Branden
Jan 10, 2019Overall, the Avengers twelfth issue is my favorite book in the series so far since the relaunch by a long shot and I cant wait to see these characters introduced here pop up in later issues interacting with this team of Avengers on a more regular basis. The art shines with some showcase character designs and great detail with care and equal attention paid to the mundane and absurd. More of the Agents of Wakanda soon please. Read Full Review

The visuals continue to be strong to better than average, due to there continuing to be more than one artist and inker on this book. If the visuals were more consistent, my grade would be higher. I would have preferred something more substantial to the plot, if we're just gonna tread water until the upcoming event what is the point of buying the next several issues? As I said in earlier Amazing Spider-man issues a couple months back cramming a book full of great cameos and guest stars doesn't always improve the story. This issue was crazy good. I loved seeing all these minor characters get a bit of a spotlight. And having Odin secretly advising Black Panther is great. And man, seeing Black Panther get his claws in everything is so fucking cool. He's working to fix the rainbow bridge by having Man-Wolf collect the shards of it in space to get Odin's advisement. Odin's got his crows down in Transylvania to keep tabs on the brewing Vampire Civil War. He's got Ka-Zar down in Atlantis keeping tabs on with Namor and the Defenders of the Deep. He's got Agent Solomon from the Thor comics investigating the War of the Realms. He's got Wasp going out and recruiting Morbius and fighting Space Vampires. It's all so very cool. I was super skeptical about the B listers cast, but well, Jason Aaron is one of the best writers working in coming today and he turns this team into a wonderfully eccentric and charismatic group. He also reminds us that most of these characters are pretty cool, but have not been well used lately. Kazar, Morbius, StarWolf, Gorilla Man, Fat Cobra. Groo. My only complaint is that the Wasp still gets no respect. She is a founding member, she should be on the core team. Great. Aaron has revitalized the Avengers after years of mediocrity post-Bendis

We're introduced to a third team featuring The Wasp, Odin and Ka-Zar, specializing in gathering information for the Avengers. Great issue and I like how all three teams are being contained to one book.

While I'm curious to this new Agents of Wakanda team that is assembling, this book did an excellent job at setting up future storylines. We meet a very interesting bunch of new agents. Beautiful art work on this issue. Though cliffhanger didn't really do anything for me. Overall it's an issue I would certainly recommend.

So much going on, and so many appearances by some of the more obscure fan favourite characters, which makes this a great read. This book keeps building for a few different storylines, and it's all so interesting.

OVERVIEW Avengers #12 a) Writing/Script= 8.8/10 (Jason Aaron) b) Art= 7.8/10 (Ed McGuinness) c) Colours= 7.5/10 (Erick Arciniega) Average= 8.03/10 This issue wasnt as exposition heavy as the last one. At first it moved quite slow then as the issue progressed, it quickly picked up pace. A lot of things is being set up in this issue and i am soooo ready for it. I am still not very crazy about Ed McGuinness's art and Erick Arciniega's colours isnt helping it at all.

The creators gleefully devote an issue to detailing out the Avengers' new support team and base. This sort of thing is a blast when it's done well and in moderation; hopefully, the arrival of Blade and Morbius will kick us into full-tilt vampire action in #13. The splashy visuals are perfect for this kind of story: essentially just a cavalcade of ideas (compelling ones!) dressed to the nines in swank illustrations.

While this "assembling the squad" issue is pretty solid, it pales in comparison to the last couple issues. I was a little bit too excited to see Gorilla-Man and Fat Cobra, who Aaron previously wrote in his amazing Wolverine run. I was excited to see these characters but I'm still not sure why they are necessary. I never liked SHIELD when they get involved with the Avengers (Except in the MCU), and the Agents of Wakanda is basically SHIELD. Also I think Jason Aaron has no idea what the physics of the ocean are, because there is no way Ka-Zar could've complete his mission without at least some oxygen (and a couple issues earlier She-Hulk was talking and jumping at the bottom of the ocean hundreds of miles down). The review of a friend make my interest growing for this issue. I'm a huge Broo fan so I wanted to read this issue as soon as possible. I have to tell that I was a bit disappointed. He don't really join a team, he is more here for the technical support stuff. But I like when he help wasp ^^ It's more a transitional issue and like I don't like Odin, I find much of the story a little boring. I would rather liked read Kazar mission,or see more of Wasp & Man-Wolf interactions. If I like to see america eagle in there, I don't like the new character "Fat Cobra" (I'm with Okoye on this, it's a dumb name). Cover - As I'm not a Odin fan and that Broo isn't on the cover, I'm not fond of it. But It's realted. 1.5/2 Writing - I really don't like more
