2020 Machine Man #2

This pair of stories were executed very well and look spectacular. The narration, especially during the first story, was excellently written and definitely pulled you into the conflict between Jocasta, X-52, and Machine Man. The artwork was very eye-catching and the use of the colors was very vibrant. The storyline for the second narrative was a little fractured but overall it was crafted well. Over all, without spoiling things, this book gets a happy ending and warms my heart as a Machine Man fan. Christos Gage writes the character fantastically well and I would love to see another miniseries from this team, especially with Andy MacDonald on art and Dono Sanchez-Almara on colors. It is good to see Aaron Stack back, and he is back with his sarcastic and fleshy-hateful personality that Ellis gave him in Nextwave, now Aaron has the tough mission of starting a revolution against Arno and his plans to implement a code of obedience to each AI. Combining explosions, robot wars and deep philosophical moments, this book is a very good read, especially (but not exclusively) if you remember the comics it's referencing. Read Full Review

Machine man is the only Tie In to this "event" im reading and I enjoyed it. I wasnt expecting much and wound up liking what we got out of these 2 issues.

Prelude: I found the first issue of Machine Man 2020 really boring so hopefully this issue is better. The Good: I actually found this issue to be entertaining enough. Art is still good. The Bad: It's all side characters that I have very little interest in. Conclusion: It's much more entertaining then the first issue but the biggest problem is the lack of importance for the whole story.

The second part of Christos Gage's story was better than the first, and Tom DeFalco's story was just as bad this time around. This was a really weak miniseries tie-in.

Machine Man resists temptation and makes off with Jocasta's head (including a copy of the Obedience Virus). In the B Strip, the Wreckers and Aaron's old pals ... exist. They win a pointless fight against some Bain robots and earn some highly-qualified respect from the rebel bots who helped them. This issue is par for the course for this event: Put together with sound storytelling skill, but fundamentally forgettable in a way that makes it hard to care about.
