Void Rivals #6

Void Rivals #6 is an excellent conclusion to the first story arc of the series. From beginning to end Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felice have you completely invested in Darak and Solila journey. The immersion created keeps you in the moment so your paying attention to everything that's said. VOID RIVALS #6 cranks up the pace and the stakes when Solila and Darks escape plan turns into a flight for survival. Kirkmans end to the first act is a thrill ride from the first page, and the pseudo-cliffhanger ending promises intriguing discoveries when the series returns. Void Rivals #6 feels a bit rushed in some ways. While it's a fine chapter, there was an opportunity for Darak and Solila to explore the world a bit more and show it off to readers. We get a passing exploration of the greater world much like our two heroes, an on the run glimpse and tease. Overall, not a bad issue but one that doesn't stand on its own. Read Full Review

An amazing escape, great banter, a betrayal, and a angry king seemingly making a compromise. Top quality stuff! Also I know the issue was good cause when I got to the end I was like "Ah yes, I am excited and cannot wait for the next issue but I can wait a month." I then saw its not till March to allow the entire Energon Universe take off (Cobra and Duke), and I almost screamed out "NOOO!". So needless to say I am sold on this series.

This first 6 issue arc was GREAT! Such a simple yet interesting title that scratches the itch for sci-fi action, while it has also provided a foundational story for the rest of the Energon EPIC. YES!

I like these two characters together. The story falls a bit short when they are separated. The female is very arrogant but is honest about her arrogance. In contrast, the male wears his heart on his sleeve. That's a good bit of chemistry to play with. I like how her people trust him more than they do her. The action scene was good and there is the growing mystery of the godlike race. I am rooting for them though we all know they are racing right back into the fire since his father is in cahoots with his counterpart. I'm not sure how this can be an ongoing series.
