Vanish #8is a surprisingly quiet ending to the first major story arc from this title. Dark and concerning,this book was completely unafraid to revel in and condemn its at times messy representations of trauma, addiction, and human cowardice when facing those things down. The at times lopsided messaging can be concerning at times, but thanks to the strong plotting, character writing, and brilliant artwork, the book manages to end off with excitement and promise. The force of the impact across page and panel is kind of impressive. The story that has been delivered over the course of the first eight issues is fun, but it wouldnt be enough to justify its existence alone without the impact of the visual reality of Vanish, which isnt enough to make it work as a complete narrative. So much of the basic premise of the plot is a fusion of various cliches. The first eight issues have been fun, but they havent amounted to much. Read Full Review

I'm sorry, but I think this series is trash. Oliver literally whines and moans and feels sorry for himself every issue. He gets his ass handed to him in every single fight. He's a complete loser with zero likable qualities as a character. He was supposed to be some all powerful character but yet he gets saved by his woman like the bitch he is. Why even make him the main character? Why not just make the woman the main character? This serie is all over the place to the point it is unenjoyable to read. This is probably pretty obvious, but I am done with this series and Donny Cates.
