Just going to say, they need to pay DWJ whatever he asks to keep him on this book. If he keeps coming up with panels/stories/scenes like these, how will this ever not sell amazingly? DWJ is probably the best writer in comics today. Art is amazing. Nothing more to add. It the best it could possibly be for this book. Each scene has so much weight. Talking about the scenes. My oh my... starscreech getting 'yeeted' into the sky, Rachets legs getting chopped off to save his body, the dad epic moment... all of these and more. A single one would make a comic. DWJ has one almost every page. I cannot tell you what high level writing and art this takes. Everyone should be reading this book. Also there is a moment in one panel it has the bac kground 'you know the song'. Ok 10/10 right there. DWJ knows when to get epic. How it ends somehow feels as intense as how it starts, but also it really feels like the end of an arc. You will have a lot of emotions in this issue but enjoyment will be the most stand out. more

I’m not afraid to overhype it. It’s just a comic, but it’s a well executed comic. Make sure these picture aren’t stuck together, and get ready for some solid sequences. The bar was set higher and higher each issue, and DWJ somehow still had more fuel to elevate with. I even felt the cover for 7 added to my enjoyment of the ending… that’s a rare treat to help with the wait ;)

Is it any wonder this and the G.I. Joe books are killing Marvel and DC? Of course not. IDW losing the license for both is the best thing that could have happened. Gone hopefully forever is the slice of life Transformers where they sit in bars and fall in love. Back is the intense action that got us into the franchise in the first place. As our first arc concludes we prepare for what should be an even more thrilling one. This story has been almost perfect. All it lacked was the yet-to-return Megatron, but I can already tell when he does escape from Cobra-La that no one will be safe. Can't wait for that. But in the mean time I'm sure Johnson has a lot more excitement for us. We're already 6 issues in and this is still the hottest thing aroun d. Its readers are salivating for more while DC and Marvel lose more each month. These truly are good times for Transformer comic readers. Like the previous 5 issues, I can't wait to see what happens next. more

It was still fantastic but didn't get as gut wrenching as it has previously. Kind of just flew through the sad stuff. Still powerful just not as devastating.

Wow. First arc complete, very well done. Thought I would pick this up just to see how it’s handled in new hands, I’m going to have to keep getting it.

This was super action-packed, which works well with Johnson's art style. However, I also feel as though that it didn't leave much room for the more emotional moments to resonate as much as they could have. Sparky sacrificing himself to keep Optimus alive felt like it came and went in a matter of seconds. Also, the ending is meant to be a somber close for the issue, but it just comes a bit out of left field as the hospital is introduced mid-way through the final page. Either way, I still really enjoyed this issue. I wasn't the biggest fan of Jorge Corona doing the art for the next arc since I love Johnson's art, but I feel a lot better about it after seeing previews for the next issue. I have a feeling Corona will fit right in, and I hope I' m right. more
