Jason Aaron and Jason Latour have finally seen the light with Coach Boss and his dirty ways. This issue not only highlighted how Coach Boss had no help in this issue, but the fact he may have no help from anyone in the future. Read Full Review

Southern Bastards, as it has been, continues to be one of the very best comic books you could be reading right now. Twenty issues in, Aaron and Latour pick the fruits of their labor by delivering one of their best issues to date. Read Full Review

Southern Bastards #20 is a brutal and absorbing issue about three angry and driven people who aim to see one another dead. The narrative is a hellacious ride that wont let you go, and the art is an excellent stylized recreation of the Deep South. This one gets a strong recommendation. Give it a read. Read Full Review

Even for Southern Bastards, this issue is especially violent, tied together by Latour's incredibly kinetic art. There's also no other comic where you'll get gritty violence perpetuated by various animals, forest hunters, and angry veterans. Read Full Review

Southern Bastards #20 is not an issue built on catharsis and resolution for either its characters and readers, but knowing that doesn't mean it doesn't mean it stings any less. Read Full Review

The delays between every issue are painful, but "Southern Bastards" still stands as the best book around, and this episode might be the shiniest example yet. With amazing character works and dialogs by Jason Aaron, as well as top-notch sequencing and art by Jason Latour, "Southern Bastards 20" doesn't let you catch your breath until the last panel. This series is a masterpiece of storytelling in the making.

Jason Aaron at his best all over again. Southern Bastards captures a deep south small county and mixes it with a gritty take no prisoners crime drama. As Aaron and Latour complete this volume they have kept one of the best books at Image. Aaron across the board is writing amazing books. He knows how to build an epic and maintain high quality of overtime and this series continues to be one of my favorites. After this issue, we set up a larger cast that will battle from the soul of Craw County. The question to be answered is who will win and what will they be willing to become in order to do it? Aaron has a created a Southern-fried version of Game of Thrones and as a Southerner myself I am on board for this ride to the very end. The delay more

Great comic. Hopefully, it doesn't take 6 months for the next issue.

"Southern Bastards" #20 is a pretty riveting issue, and is pretty hard core with violent action. However, the story's resolution felt a bit off to me--it didn't really seem to work with Roberta's story arc so far. Her decision seems to serve the progression of the overall story, and doesn't really give her rage justice. Of course more awesome "Southern Bastards" issues lay ahead, but the close of this arc for me is really good rather than great, and great is kind of where they've set the bar.
