Lazarus #22

This series is a particularly hard one to review because discussing any of the specific plot points would ruin the intrigue and suspense the reader needs to experience to fully appreciate this journey. Lazarus #22 has me excited for things to come in future issues. Then again, that's how I feel when I finish pretty much every issue of the book- when will I be able to read more? Fortunately, there won't be as long a wait for the next issue. Really, there's not much else to say at this point.Lazarus is still one of, if not the, best comics being published right now. Lazarus is a great series and Lazarus #22 was a good issue. The Cull has started and I get the impression things are about to snowball into a chaotic mess. So don't miss out. Lazarus is back and almost no one is happier about it than me. The trademark story telling and development that Rucka and Lark have sculpted over 20 issues continues. It is crisp and ripe with intrigue, but also has great looking action per usual. It's nice to have this back on the shelves. Read Full Review

Though it has been away for some time, Lazarus is still a very good series. Its encouraging that Rucka and Lark are willing to take big risks with their creative decisions. These decisions push the series into unexpected directions and offer other characters time to shine. The juggling of injured Forever and her younger clone could be tricky, but I think Rucka and Lark have something worthwhile in mind. As the new arc The Cull progresses, I think we will see more daring stories. Read Full Review

Lazarus #22 was well worth the wait, getting “Cull” off to a thrilling start. Giving us some wonderful character depth, the creative team touched on Forever's condition in a powerful manner, though the slow pace may be offputting to some. Read Full Review

"Lazarus" #22 provides interesting insight into Johanna Carlyle and shows that Carlyle's resident femme fatale might still have a heart, posing the intriguing question of whether Johanna can be reformed despite her readiness to betray anyone at the drop of a hat and her heartless treatment of Waste, Serfs and Family alike. Reviewing Lazarus #22 is a very weird experience because it's like reviewing the first four pages of the next chapter in a book. Lazarus is as good and intriguing as always, but similar to only reading several pages of a chapter, reading a single issue of Lazarus is sometimes unfulfilling in and of itself. Read Full Review

This issue, being primarily a setup checkpoint in the plot, isn't the most exciting but it still represents the kind of narrative style that makes Lazarus a solid Rucka offering. Read Full Review

I love that the Bittner Lazarus is making friends with Forever 8, adorable. I love seeing the war progress, you're going down Hock, f that other Lazarus tough guy up.
