G.I. JOE #3 nails the spy thriller vibe that has made this comic book special. The tension created throughout this issue elevates the various character arcs that are going on. It all comes together for a story you're left looking forward to reading the next chapter as soon as possible. Read Full Review

    Nerd Initiative - Ken M.

KEN: 9/10. With each mounting set-back, G.I. Joe struggles to get one back against Cobra. Williamson hits readers with a strong balance of action and emotion. Reilly, Bellaire and Wooton never let up on bringing the excitement. This is everything you could want when you think G.I. Joe! Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Its nice to see shades of darkness around the edges of something that I had only ever really had a chance to be. Kind of bright and silly when it was first debuted its nice to see that theres some willingness to be a bit more dark as the series moves forward into the newly-created Energon Universe. Theoretically, there would be more that could be explored with the franchise. The simple good versus evil framework is cozy and familiar, but its not anything with that ends up feeling terribly compelling after the last page of any issue. These franchises can explore quite a bit more than very simple concepts if theyre given the chance. Read Full Review

    Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez

G.I. JOE #3 is a fast-paced, entertaining issue that relies heavily on espionage and intrigue to stop Cobra Commander from building a "super weapon. Joshua Williamson's script is well-paced and focused, improving significantly from issue #1's bumpy start. Sadly, the art is rough enough to be off-putting. Read Full Review

Another great issue. Unlike the other G.I. Joe title, this one makes me care about the characters. In this case, I'm really worried about my favorite, Clutch. I hope he makes it out of the enemy's lair. The only issue I'm having with this series is the coloring. While I generally like a reduced moody color palette, it does look a bit lazy and uninspired in some places. Anyway, the perfect comic book art doesn't exist (well, maybe in Geiger...), and I'm really loving this series so far!

G.I. Joe issue three was a super fun read - it was so fast paced, it almost felt too short. The Clutch plot line is really good, feels like a an 80s episode of the cartoon - modernized and much more grounded (well not totally). No major story points - but this book set up what I hope will be some killer action next issue. Also I have a theory on who this Risk character actually is ... but I don't want to be right and spoil anything. Highly recommend - Yo Joe!

Another solid issue. It had some good beats adn the plot is moving forward showing both sides of the battle. Cobra Commander seems very in control and Stalker's entrance was great. I'm still waiting to see how the Baroness turns. Jeremy Admams interview - https://youtube.com/live/GUqtOTR4GHY?feature=share

Cool issue. I love the way he writes Cobra Commander, evil and brutal.

I loved GI Joe as a kid but this comic needs some work. Storyline can get confusing and the artwork as many others have said should have been far better. It is splotchy and vague and the story is not clear and jumps around way too much for my liking. Still gave it 3 stars to try to encourage them to do better.
