This issue had quite a different feel to the first. Much darker, pretty extreme, quite funny, and with a very definite sense of peril, it was still a very fine read. The world Glory lives in is far more sinister and depraved than we ever could have imagined, and I'm anxious to see if Glory eventually learns the scope of her ex's work. Remender is able to take the story to even weirder heights, without sacrificing character moments or scenes that will get you invested into the characters. Bengal is masterful with the art one again, pencilling scenes that conveys pain and fear effectively. This definitely worth the $3.99. Read Full Review

Jun 11, 2018I'm on the fence about 'Death of Glory' now after reading the second issue. After some twisted turns, I'm not sure it's where I want to go. Yet, I can't deny the incredible art and storytelling execution. For all its weirdness, Remender writes a compelling if not thrilling crime story. I just hope it's worth all the cringe-worthy detours he puts us on and whether it's worth the shock value? The bottom line is it's too early to tell if this a stroke of genius from one of comics' most prolific writers or the early warning signal of a heaping flaming sewage barge headed right for us. Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson
Jun 05, 2018I am still a bit on the fence with the story in Death or Glory. At first, it is pretty straightforward, but then Remender packs it full of all kinds of weirdness. I am not sure what to make of it; the character of Glory is fantastic and Remender is doing some good work building her up. The art by Bengal continues to be a delightful treat that makes this series a wonder to look at. I guess all this combined makes for a pretty interesting book that has me and apparently many other people picking it up. Read Full Review

Awesome second issue, very visceral. Glory's got herself involved in some effed up shit. Can't wait to see where this goes. The artwork is fantastic. I love the colours. Really get that desert vibe. However the speech bubbles get a bit sketchy at some points. Pick this up, folks!

The series took a very dark turn so early on and it's great. The story continues to improve and the artwork is just amazing and it absolutely works with this kind of story.

The plot advances and the stakes rise. The Mexicans are new players in the game and Glory and Pablo have their heading. I like how this story is setting things up. There were some uncomfortable scenes in this issue I could've done without, but hey, that's modern comics. Writing is still sharp and art is still solid.

So the sophomore effort got a bit weird. I'm enjoying this story, and I really like Glory. Dark is fine with me, and I liked the ending but on the same token being edgy for what seems like "the sake of trying to be edgy' drops the book -2.

To dark for me ... I was out once I see the mechanical saw. Cover - Very beautiful, but not related. 1/2 Writing - Maybe it's well contruct. Maybe not. But it's not for me for sure. 1/3 Arts - Awesome. 3/3 Feeling - Don't like it. 0/2
