Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles

Cobra Commander #2 certainly didn't start off slow, but this was another issue that breezed by far too quickly. This creative team is creating a must-read where the next installment can't arrive soon enough. This book probably needs to come with a warning that it contains highly addictive material that's barely satiated with a 30-day fix. Read Full Review

Cobra Commander #2 is an amazing ride from beginning to end. You are so immersed in the experience created that when you reach the end, you're left with the feeling of wanting to read more. Getting the reader to feel this way shows the home run hit by Joshua Williamson and Andrea Milana. Read Full Review

Cobra Commander #2 is another fantastic issue that continues to cement the Energon Universe as the best comic universe on the market right now. What Skybound and the creators have done is to give properties that have been around decades a shot in the arm, a hell of a new kick off. This comic is a prefect example of that, mixing in old and new to make long time fans happy, welcome new ones, and keep everyone guessing what will happen next. Read Full Review

COBRA COMMANDER #2 proves to be an entertaining and surprisingly violent installment. The search for Energon provides a simple yet effective plot, serving as a great entry point to understand Cobra Commanders character. The technical aspects of the writing are commendable, and the art, though not groundbreaking, complements the narrative. Its a solid addition to the Cobra Commander saga, offering a blend of action, character exploration, and intriguing story elements. Read Full Review

The next phase of Cobra Commanders beginnings takes readers into an explosive confrontation with some familiar faces. Williamson directs traffic through the horror and action, giving readers a full dose of excitement. Milana and company hold nothing back as the brutality of the bad guys crafts quite a few bold images. Make sure not to let this chapter slip through your grasps on NCBD! Read Full Review

Cobra Commander #2 is a half step in the right direction. While it introduces more beloved G.I. Joe baddies, it also progresses the main plot too slowly while also missing all the cool world building and character work of the first issue. The visuals make up for the delay for more of the good stuff in issue #1, but only so much. Read Full Review

The book immediately reminds us that despite the characters involved this is extremely not children-friendly, and while making Cobra Commander the butt of a few jokes is fun it feels like padding for the much bigger story of Megatron being imprisoned by COBRA. Read Full Review

Well hot dang that was a good issue. Establish people that are a threat to the Commander? Check. Show off the Commanders wits and strategy without making him OP? Check. Developing a great voice for the Commander? Check. Establishing high stakes for the next issue? Check. I really enjoy what is coming together here. This Cobra Commander is so well written you know he is going to be amazing here and down the line. A great villain for sure. Everything in the Energon Universe is a must-read and Issue 2 of this mini-series just goes to show you why.

This book shows just how violent and sadistic the Dreadnoks can be. Quite a start to the issue alone. Meanwhile we get some insight to Cobra Commander and his hate of the world he turned his back on. It looks like he and his future allies will have to clash before forming their alliance. Their mutual interest in Energon will probably be what seals the deal. But we'll have to wait till next issue to find out, won't we? I've got to say I haven't been so into G.I. Joe in comics in 20 years. It's good to have it and Transformers back on top again.

This issue goes a bit toward the slasher genre as we get Cobra Commander come up against the Dreadnocks. They like to torture people, and they're good at it. I didn't quite understand the scene in Cobra-la or the guy that took a few bullets to the chest and the ripped the arms off of the security guy. Ortherwise it was a pretty fun issue.
