Blood & Thunder #3

The third issue is one hell of a cat and mouse chase throughout Metro 1. A lot of carnage, action, and suspense are delivered in this issue. Benito Cereno delivers another compelling issue as the mystery deepens, and the action continues to ramp up. The threat of what the monstrous Prisoner X is capable of is only overshadowed by the mysterious motives that drive his carnage. The layers in this story are awesome and keep us coming back for more. BLOOD & THUNDER #3 delivers a chaotic, action-packed installment that expands its universe in exciting ways. While the frenetic art can sometimes hinder clarity and the new plot thread feels a bit shoehorned in, the core dynamic between Blood and Thunder remains highly entertaining. This issue solidifies Prisoner X as a major threat and sets the stage for a much larger, more mysterious adventure. It's a wild ride that, despite a few bumps, leaves you eager for what comes next. Cereno didn't offer much with the dialogue to move the story along, so this issue was just one long chase sequence. Su kept things engaging with some fantastic artwork, but Blood and Thunder might still be too new a series to have a narrative running in place installment. Read Full Review

Skybound Entertainment’s Blood & Thunder #3 is an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride that refuses to let up the pace. After setting the stage in the first two issues, Benito Cereno's script goes all-in on action via an extended chase sequence in this issue, with Blood and Thunder racing after Prisoner X through the futuristic, alien city. Every page is packed with vivid and dynamic visuals courtesy of E.J. Su’s art and Msassyk's colors. The motion is fast-paced and expressive, perfectly capturing the frantic energy of the chase. I particularly enjoyed the panels featuring Blood taking tumbling in pursuit – it's a testament to the series' commitment to showcasing the thrilling stunts and high-octane action, while balancing it with moment s of character building. Blood’s commentary as she took bump after bump gives us a glimpse into her determination and need to prove her worth. The real star of the show, however, continues to be the buddy-cop dynamic between Blood and Thunder. Their playful dialogue and contrasting personalities – Blood being the business-first do-gooder and Thunder preferring the duo stay out of the fray – reminded me of Owen and Axe’s hilarious relationship in Vault's Barbaric series. It's a winning formula that adds heart and humor to the story. Blood & Thunder #3 is yet another thrilling issue in this series that is quickly becoming one of my favorite new comics of 2025. The series continues to draw me in, and with this issue setting up conflict across an expanded universe, I'm excited to see where things go from here! more

This is still a very fun read, but not a lot happened in this issue despite being non-stop action. Well written and drawn, still a lot of untapped potential here.

I might be out on Blood & Thunder - it’s all sort of random and pointless, almost as if the writer is making it up as he goes along. Also the profanity is just way over used to the point of sounding juvenile. The escaped prisoner isn’t written very interesting and the coloring makes him look very drab and boring. Since I liked issue 2 … I’ll see what issue 4 brings - but I can’t recommend issue 3. Not saying it’s “bad” just not for me.
