"CITY FALL" part 1: A normal night on the town for Raphael and Casey turns deadly when the Foot Clan appears in full force. The resulting chaos is only the first step in Shredder's master plan! The stakes have never been higher, and lives are on the line. Don't miss the start of the biggest story arc to hit the TMNT yet!

This is IDW's first big Turtles event and I'm so pleased to say the publisher is off to a terrific start. This is an absolutely superb way to kick things off because it's crafted in a manner that's perfect for new readers and for fans who have been following along since the very first issue. So, if you're one of the people who has been saying, "I want to read this but I don't know where to start or how to get the back issues," do yourself a favor and pick up this issue. Worry about catching up when you have time later, but for right now, you definitely don't want to be left in the dust. As of right now, this has all the makings of a must read story. IDW, thank you for continuing to make me fall in love with my favorite childhood franchise. You can't hear it from over there, but I'm giving you the best slow clap I can give. Read Full Review

City Fall kicks things off with a burst of adrenaline. As someone who has jumped in and out of the Turtle comic, this is one you can pick up without missing a step and still be absolutely thrilled from the beginning to the cliffhanger. City Fall part 1 will take the hype to a whole new level, and I really think it can live up to it. Read Full Review

TMNT has always been an enjoyable book, but "City Fall" immediately kicks up the quality several notches. And the good news is that the writers manage to make the story accessible enough that it's possible to dive right in, though I'd at least recommend checking out issue #21 and Eastman's brief return as interior artist. With this issue, the Turtles take one confident step into being more than just a cartoon given the gritty treatment, but a completely serious series that operates on its own terms, strange as they are. Read Full Review

I don't envy any artist starting a new arc following and issue Kevin Eastman drew himself. Honestly, I have a mixed reaction to the art by Mateus Santolouco, especially with his depiction of April. Some of the action sequences are well done, but I think it's going to take me some time to get used to his style. Worth a look. Read Full Review
