The Batman Universe - Bob Moriarty
Oct 31, 2018The dark shadows of Gotham City seem like a good place to try and bring the Maxx back into this reality and Sam Kieths artwork is deliciously bizarre. However unless the Not-so-Dynamic Duo can find something yet unwritten in their battle with the Joker or an even larger adversary emerges to help float the book, these heroes may sink beneath the waves from their own weight. So close... so close. I very much appreciate this is a thing that exists, Maxx is my favourite comic book after all, but The Maxx is only represented here in his base form from the first 20 issues and it doesn't seem to have any place in continiuity. The crossover works well, but also feels like it could benefit from going further down the psychological route of Maxx rather than playing it safe to suit the wider audience.
