Invincible Red Sonja had me on board just from the solicitation but the first issue cemented it far more. This one builds on that incredibly well to move things forward and hint at some of what's to come. The bookends here play well to set up the mystery that Sonja is likely to exploit and get caught up in but realistically, I just want more time with her and Zaria overall. There's so much to take in with this issue that it'll make for a good re-read right after finishing but also looking at this from the long view with this run as a whole. 'Invincible Red Sonja' #2 stays true to its title as Sonja stays winning against assassins and monsters. This sweeping adventure is a complete blast and worthy of the She-Devil. Full of action and intrigue, 'Invincible' sets a standard for Dynamite's franchise heroine. The creative team's obvious passion is infectious as Sonja battles all comers while finding new ways to enrich herself. This is Red Sonja at her best.  Read Full Review

It's not all work for the She-Devil with a Sword as she does have enough time to teach the princess the joys of wine (and the troubles of a hangover). A notable thief, Sonja's prescience at the site of the theft of the jewels isn't likely to go unnoticed. Has she been framed? Or is this just another obstacle to overcome to fulfill her duty? The art this issue took a dip in quality overall, although there’s the odd tremendous exception. The humour and action were as good as last issue though and the plot advanced nicely.
