Wonder Woman #782

Cloonan and Conrad have a really solid grasp of Dianas life both in and out of costume. Idle moments at a cafe and in a hotel room further explore a casual friendship between Diana and Deadman, making for some of the more appealing social moments of Dianas 80th anniversary year. Diana and Deadman make for an appealing pair. The contrast between the thoughtful nuance of Dianas story and the rugged aggression of Artemis battle makes for a remarkably well-rounded issue. Were only two issues into the second arc from the CloonRad team, and weve already introduced to a new threat for Wonder Woman, development on the Dr. Cizko subplot, more fun with Diana & Boston, plus further development for the Bana Migdhall tribes from Vita Ayala as we head closer to the upcoming 2022 Wonder Woman event. Wonder Woman #782 is a fine example of why this title has been so good. We not only get multiple plot elements that are "connected," but the characters never get shortchanged. It's balanced. Wonder Woman is in a better place than it was a few months ago, but it's still not at can't miss status. Maybe this arc can help turn things around assuming Cloonan and Conrad pick up the pace sharper. Read Full Review

Wonder Woman #782 is a mess of an issue that shows that Conrad and Cloonan have no idea how to write Deadman, but worse than that, plot an interesting issue.  Everything is forced forward in a convoluted way to get to a cliffhanger which feels like an attempt to be clever but will leave most readers scratching their heads. I'm enjoying this arc even more now. Cloonrad have found the right voice for Diana. It's great to see another Wonder villain enter this story, and despite guest star Deadman, who continues to have fun and heartfelt interactions with Diana, Diana's Man's World supporting cast isn't forgotten either. Takara's art is even better than last Issue and Patridge's art fits the Bana-Mighdall so well, it's almost a crime that she doesn't have a proper Wonder book to work on. Ayala continues to flesh out the Bana well. The worldbuilding is great, and I enjoyed the focus on Faruka's and Atalana's difference in leading style.

I don't consider myself a Deadman fan, but I have read some stories with him and I don't see much of a difference to how Cloonrad are writing him. What do you wish they'd to different? Cloonrad've been hinting at the fact that Siggy is a champion to his pantheon of Gods the way Diana is to hers, so I think he didn't get to accomplish whatever his goal was, probably because of a betrayal if they want to build a connection to the nordic and germanic sagas he comes from.

Wonder Woman - 6/10, ehh this issue felt a bit average to me, nothing special about the plot and the dialogues a bit dull Road to the trial of the amazons - 7/10, the script fell a bit flat for me but the plot and cliffhanger were interesting

Cloonan & Conrad are boring as usual, with a dull plot, and mediocre art. Ayala’s back-up is a little better, but not much better.
