Supergirl #29

However, my sole gripe with this issue is that Z'ndr is a teenager. I'm not sure why it bothered me, maybe I wanted Supergirl to have a mentor more than a fellow teen pal, but it rubbed the wrong way. Either way, Supergirl #29 was paced well, artistically beautiful and I eagerly await next month when the confrontation with Empress Gandelo goes down. A great job as usual. So glad the Zaar storyline got this series renewed because Supergirl is a great character. Pick it up. Read Full Review

This issue is the most calm before a storm I've seen in a while. The jungle was lush and green, and our heroes were having a pool party. By that logic, issue 30 will be down-right apocalyptic, and that's going to be a spectacle to right home about indeed. Read Full Review

While this issue remains good, it's a bit of a down issue for the series. It seems that after this issue, the writer wanted the book to be in a certain place to wrap up this storyline. Unfortunately, going about it at a normal pace was apparently out of the question. It's a bit frustrating to be so invested in a series and then have it rush to get to the end all of a sudden, but the book is still good, the characters are still interesting, and I'm still looking forward to the next issue. A muddled delivery of the rather sudden end to a grand quest is further muted by a substantial amount of exposition. With any luck, Andreyko and company are adjusting for a new direction with one of DCs most iconic superheroes. Finally enjoying this comic again, great dialogue and great artwork. As well as getting some much needed answers. Though I feel like the writers don’t talk to other writers on the book, how is Rogal watching all this?!

I thought this issue was fine. I think there are some inconsistencies here. Like why build up the possible conflict with Supergirl knowing about Z'ndr's mom only to have nothing come of it when it's revealed?
